David Hovious was born in 1935 on a poor Indiana farm, the oldest of twin boys. He quit school at the age 17, and with his twin, joined the Army. He served with the U.S. Army for 5 1/2 years, and was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant First Class.


Mr. Hovious was involved in construction, a management consultant for mobile home parks, and trustee for the Fifth District Federal Bankruptcy Court in Chicago, Retiring to Florida on disability in 1991, he turned his hand writing to a novel in print, DOUBLE TROUBLE PLUS ONE, dealing with the rural life of a poor white Southern Indiana family in the 1940’s and early 1950’s. The stories related are based on fact and told in the autobiographical approach.


Mr. Hovious has become a prolifi c writer of poetry, many pertaining to his childhood. Thus the title ALL MY LIFE IS POETRY. Married to his second wife for 47 years, he is a father of four daughters, grandfather of seven and great grandfather of twelve.
